The Average Price of Rental Apartments in San Francisco
The average price of rental apartments in San Francisco jumped 15.4 percent last year, reaching a median cost of $3,031 a month. Denver rents also spiked 10.5 percent, to $1,817 a month. Since 2000, rental prices have risen an average of 52 percent nationally, while renters’ incomes have increased only 25 percent.

The overall share of union-represented workers is on the decline, however, falling from 11.3 percent in 2013 to 11.1 percent last year. In 1983, more than 20 percent of workers belonged to a union.
In 2013, the Internal Revenue Service uncovered $24.4 billion in attempted tax fraud, but mistakenly paid out more than $5 billion in tax refunds to identity thieves.
