The presidents of France and Ukraine , Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelensky, co-signed today, at the French air force base of Villacoublay, a joint letter according to which the Ukrainian side commits to purchasing 100 French Rafale fighter jets as well as new-generation defense systems.
According to the Elysee, the agreement extends over a ten-year period, reports APE-MPA.
The Ukrainian president and his staff will meet with representatives of the military aviation industry in Paris today . He will also visit the general staff of the multinational force for Ukraine, where France and the United Kingdom are preparing the possibility of its deployment, to provide security guarantees to the Ukrainian side, in the event of a ceasefire agreement between Moscow and Kiev.
This is the Ukrainian president's ninth visit to France since the start of the war with Russia in February 2022.
