A study carried out by GFK published by Visa in the countries of Spain, Portugal, France and Italy highlighted how the Covid-19 pandemic increased the use and payment habits of consumers, placing ecommerce as the main trend in recent periods. In Spain, e-commerce has had a growth of 52% during the quarantine and among these 23% of the Spaniards surveyed were released in this modality due to the pandemic.

Customer service

A report by The Future Is Now said about ecommerce: "the future is customer-oriented." Therefore, the key to the success of ecommerce is focused on the experience that users have with the brand, whether in terms of products, prices and personalized experiences.

The good user experience is the differentiating factor of the brands, even more than the product and the price. Fact that supports the survey conducted by PwC, which noted that 86% of consumers prefer to pay more for a great experience. And is that a bad experience is the main reason that consumers go to the competition, therefore, the fact that ecommerce decide to provide a service based on customer preferences, gives them the advantage.

In addition, due to the high demand and competition in the ecommerce field , companies have had to rapidly evolve the experiences offered to the user, making changes that are aimed at improving the customer experience.

In this sense, the preference for ecommerce according to several analysts focuses on these factors: payment methods, flexibility when buying or receiving the product, convenience of delivery and returns, simplicity and speed to contact the service and ease to browse the web.

The flexible shopping and payment methods incorporated by ecommerce have given customers great freedom. These can be done as and when it suits the client best. And the data does not lie, according to Klarna, a company specialized in payment and purchase services, 25% of Spaniards who were surveyed, spent between 50 to 100 euros more on their year-end purchases, if they had the opportunity to choose flexible payment alternatives in installments and without interest and almost 20% would pay 100 to 200 euros more if they had the option of paying without interest.

In terms of delivery, everyone wants to receive their products soon, and ecommerce has fulfilled everyone's expectations using various technological tools. Also, progressive web applications that allow knowing the product journey, intelligent visual solutions, or visual or voice search as a purchase channel, are elements that have revalued the world of ecommerce.

Conclution

Ecommerce is a business of the present, but it is certainly a business of the future. In this digital age, the use of technologies in the various business modalities is vital to stay afloat in the market and the innovative modalities that ecommerce has brought paint to make it the preference of all Spaniards and the rest of the world now and future.
