"You have to understand the extreme conditions, of absolute complexity, regarding the entry or exit (from Ukraine) of President Zelensky," he stressed.
The Spanish Foreign Minister assured that "the Madrid summit will give a picture of Euro-Atlantic unity", which "is the best response to Russia's illegal attack on Ukraine".
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said last week that Zelensky was due to attend the upcoming Alliance summit, but did not say what form that participation would take. "He is welcome in person or by video conference," Stoltenberg said.
