Turkish parliament sets July 22nd as the date for early elections in the country, aimed at exiting the political crisis
Members of parliament unanimously approved the proposal in a vote broadcast live on the national television network. At the same time, the European Union and the United States are closely monitoring political developments in the neighborhood. The German Foreign Minister, in an interview with Bild newspaper, called for Turkey's support on its path to the European Union. "I am convinced that the political forces in Turkey are aware of their responsibilities for their country, democratic reforms and their implementation," said Frank-Walter Steinmeier. "The United States fully supports the Turkish Republic and its constitutional process.
