Uber: Starts selling cannabis in Ontario, Canada
Uber Eats users in Ontario, Canada will be able to place cannabis orders through the app from Monday.
Uber enters the cannabis market in Canada as it adds the drug to its list of items that can be ordered through its app, although it is currently only available to users in Ontario.
According to Reuters , from Monday, users of the application in Ontario will be able to buy the drug through a new category at Uber Eats.
Uber, which already delivers spirits through Uber Eats, has been targeting the growing cannabis market for some time.
Its chief executive, Dara Khosrowshahi, told the media in April that the company would consider delivering cannabis when the law allowed it.
This action by the company contributes to the country's effort to curb the illegal cannabis market in Canada, which is still large.
