Challenges Talat

The solution to the Cyprus problem is impossible at this time, says the president of the pseudo-state, Mehmet Ali Talat. In an interview with the illegal radio station "Bayrak", Mr. Talat also referred to the issue of the property of Cypriots in the pseudo-state. He insisted that the issue of property is part of the overall solution to the Cyprus problem and accused the Greek Cypriot side of trying to bring it up for discussion in the technical committees.
Commenting on Talat's statements, government spokesman Vassilis Palmas said it was clear that the only concern of Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots was to upgrade the pseudo-state and not to create the right conditions and data to make progress in resolving the Cyprus issue.
It is a fact that once again the issue of Cyprus has stagnated and there will hardly be developments in the near future, as the solutions that are sometimes proposed are based on the "Annan" plan. A plan that the President of Cyprus, Tassos Papadopoulos, and the Cypriot people have rejected in the past.
